It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year - or, This One’s for You, Betel Geuse..

It’s been a long, and eventful off-season, but the sun’s out, the grass is green, and the smell of red rubber balls, 40 oz Malt Liquor bottles, and possibilities is in the air…

We’re just three weeks away from the start of another WAKA Kickball season here in lovely Charleston. It’s our fourth season, and I’ve decided to step down from my role as president, and will now assume my new role as The Ghost Man - writer/editor of the weekly newsletter that our 400+ drinkers with a kickball problem will receive. I’ll be sure to post each edition up here, too, so y’all can get even more insight into my addiction to a game played by 10 year olds.

I got an email recently from someone who said that while they love my poetic waxing about my day-to-day, they were having withdrawls from a lack of K-ball news. Well, simmer down Chuckles AKA “T”, there hasn’t been any news.

The only thing I can tell you right now is that our sign up was so huge this season that we had to open up another division. The Palmetto Division will play on Tuesday nights (The Coastal Division plays on Wed/Thurs)
There’s a meeting next Wednesday at 6:30PM at Dengate’s for all captains, and anyone interested in joining the board. If you play, you oughtta think about joining the board in some capacity. In the four seasons here, I’ve been Social Chair twice, The Ghost Man twice, and Prez…(it’s like the Avon of social sporting activities!)…

That good enought for now, T? I promise that as your friendly neighborhood ghost man that i will always keep you fully informed on all things Charleston Kickball (as a matter of fact, try googling “Charleston Kickball” and see what comes up…

In other news,
1) still waiting on photos from mom. as soon as i get ‘em, i’ll put ‘em up! pinky swear.
2) i’m the karaoke DJ at a bar in town this saturday. If anyone happens to be in Charleston this weekend, stop on by the Island Bar and Grill.
3) I start performing with Improv Smackdown in July…
4) I feel out of the loop with y’all cuz I still haven’t caught up on everyone’s sites yet!!! forgiveness, please…

I’m a little bit country, and I’m a little bit rock & roll,
-KS

  1. I’ll forgive you for your Donnie and Marie quote…and I may just send you a cool shirt for your bday (since you sent me a really cool shirt) it won’t be Derek’s, I don’t think I can part with it yet…I think I’m going to give it back to him if I see him. Send me an email at Melinalovesderek@gmail.com (how ironic huh?)
