Last night was GREAT! I didn’t flub any lines, I think only missed one dance move, and I didn’t pull a Bobby Brady and have my voice crack during a song! People were laughing their asses off at all the right moments, and we got a great response from the crowd as we did the little everyone hold hands while walking up to the front of the stage and bowing together theater bow thing
To all the drama students that I may or may not have been mean/dismissive/snobbish/downright rude to in high school, please accept my belated apology. This stuff’s just as much fun as strapping on 30lbs of pads and running full-bore into another 200lb dude with 30lbs of pads on, too!
We had about 100 folks at our show, and we’re hoping to sell out (130) Saturday’s show.
So, if you’re in the area, please come to the show (Nate and Di, I’m looking in your direction).
Doing one of those fruity theater bows,
-Jay
PS - Annie gave me the greatest pre-show gift last night. I got a really funny card, and inside it said, “I thought that instead of flowers, a guy would probably like burritos” - and there was a gift certificate to my favorite burrito joint in town. Thanks, girl. That was great!
I know I’m not writing much anymore, but I’ll try to put something up once a week now. Let’s say Mondays? It can be part of your back to work but not ready to start working routine. sound good?
